Designed by Vladimir Kagen. This incredible and very rare Vladimir Kagan for American Leather ‘Fiftyish’ wingback sofa which was based on his winged barrel-form designs from the 1950s with Kagan-Dreyfuss. Documented in the book: “The Complete Kagan; A Lifetime of Avant-Garde Design” where Kagan described this design as: “A winged sofa and chair from 2002 were both manufactured by American Leather and based on Kagan designs from the fifties. They were appropriately named “Fiftyish”. There is visible wear and usage. new upholstery and foam inserts will be needed for the seat cushions. Accompanied with three Lombard pillows.The large dramatic wings of this sofa are sensational. Upholstered in its original peachy beige ultra-suede which is a cleanable suede-like fabric, it is in very good condition with only light wear. As of the time we photographed the sofa, we have not steam-cleaned it yet but if you purchase with the intent to keep the original fabric, please let us know and we can offer complimentary steam cleaning. The wear is so minor that this should remove most of the current light wear that is noticeable with close inspection.
