This refined and graphic pair of modernist table lamps were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of … more This refined and graphic pair of modernist table lamps were realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. L-form handblown Murano rectilinear glass pieces- resembling frozen water with translucent exteriors and opaque white interiors- ascend from a polished gunmetal base. The pieces alternate at perpendicular angles imbuing the lamp bodies with a subtle dynamism. The lamps come fitted with volumetric rectangular finials in polished gunmetal, reiterating the material of the base at their apex. The geometric form of the segments with the wonderfully organic quality of handblown glass creates a stunning juxtaposition. Their clean modernist lines and monochromatic palate, make these lamps well suited for any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent condition.
