This has been in one family since 1959 and it’s origins are either mid to late 19th century or mid … more This has been in one family since 1959 and it’s origins are either mid to late 19th century or mid 20th century in a classical mode. Purchased from an antique store in NYC, other fine English furniture from this estate was Henry lV and auctioned at Sotheby’s in the late 1990s. There is a wire on the back for hanging. It has a patina consistent with age. The scene depicts figures of two warriors looking back at two men lassoing a stallion. The figures are a wonderful shade of celadon with a slight sheen.my here is a ledge upon which they are standing that extends 1.25 inches from the rest of of the frieze. From a smoke-free home. less
